PROJECT 20-02 - Neighborhood Security Systems: CLOSED

Counter Reset 03 July 20

Neighborhood Security System Options

     - Identify options for video surveillance at the entrance to each neighborhood annex and present to HOA Board for consideration

UPDATE (29 Sep 20 - Final): The installation is complete! The cameras and software have been field tested and are working as advertised. One ingress camera is installed at each entrance. The cameras are primarily designed and oriented to capture license plates. However, they do have limited capability to catch outgoing traffic. We will be working in the coming weeks to tweek the cameras' orientation to maximize their effectiveness. On or about 27 Sep we were able to provide valuable footage to LexPD to aid in a theft investigation. We asked investigating officers to share any information they are permitted to regarding the status of the case as it develops and will share any information that we are allowed to on the Security Chat.

Project 20-02 is CLOSED.

UPDATE (13 Aug 20): The installation work order has been submitted to a local contractor and is awaiting acceptance. Flock currently expects the cameras to be installed between 24 and 26 August.

UPDATE (04 Aug 20): Flock completed a check to ensure that there is no conflict with utilities at the install locations. Cameras are being packaged to be sent to a local installation technician. COVID delays continue but have not stopped the project. Looking at mid August installation.

UPDATE (21 July 20): The site visit was completed and camera locations verified. Ken Westberry trimmed the trees along the entrance IAW local regulations to ensure the camera on Parterre has a clear line of sight. Ken and Stuart had a Zoom meeting with the Flock Safety representative on 20 July who indicated that we are approximately two weeks out from having the system up and running. The S&S Newsletter 20-07 was distributed by hard copy to ensure maximum dissemination on 20 July with guidance on system integration and how residents can sign up for the Cold List. Residents are also urged to join the security chat and sign up for the e-newsletter. An Informational event will be scheduled once system operation is validated to introduce the system to residents.

UPDATE (17 July 20): A site visit is scheduled for 20 July to verify proposed camera locations. Camera installation should happen within the three weeks following. COVID-19 has impacted the progress by delaying the site visit, originally scheduled for 06 July, and slowing the manufacture of the cameras. We are in constant contact with Flock Safety and are impressing upon them the importance of moving forward.

UPDATE (01 July 20): Approval obtained for the installation of entrance ingress security cameras, residents have the option to enroll in the Cold List. By submitting the information requested, enrolled vehicles will be recognized as belonging to a Saddle Club resident during event searches and, essentially, ignored when collected data is searched for suspect vehicles. This maximizes resident privacy and system efficiency as searches will take less time. Participation is voluntary. Please visit the Documents page (under the More tab), and see the S&S Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for more information on the management of the information collected by these systems. Submit an enrollment for each vehicle, do not put multiple license plates on one form. Each time you submit the form it will clear itself for the next entry.
